“How do you use social media?”
I don’t. Ok that’s not true, this is social media. It’d be more accurate to say I use it with deliberate incompetence. I like sharing stuff, but most of the time my blogs are just for me. That’s because I just can’t be bothered to do social engagement and all that guff. I should, and I have dipped my toes in by asking people on the one social platform I do interact with people on what I should do differently, but in an ironic twist that post got no engagement. What can you do right?
I’m starting to think a dark horse candidate for my next proper book is going to win out. A history of UK polling day, from the logistics of polls opening to the modern TV coverage of the results pouring in. Tim Bale, who was a professor at Sussex my first time round and who’s a family friend might be able to offer some advice on the topic, so I should ask his advice on it some time. It’s a fascination I’ve started to develop from watching old election coverage, as well as being one of the foot-soldiers in four general and a bunch of by-elections. Could be a fun topic to delve into.
Absolutely shattered still, but starting to feel a little more myself. But for now, I’m gonna go and lie down. Got a busy week ahead of me.
