“Are you superstitious?”

Very. I don’t actually believe in superstitions, but I tend to behave as if I do, like following very strict rituals and routines with a sense something bad would happen if I didn’t. I’m better than I used to be, perhaps because I channel that energy into 1K now, where there are no consequences for failure but I’m determined not to.

Today was a lovely day, even if I only got about four hours sleep on a friend’s sofa. I’m in a good way in spite of that, and managed to write right after work too, doing a top to bottom rewrite of my Modern America submission due tomorrow. I made myself a spreadsheet – an out of character move my friends can attest to – where I listed a bunch of questions to ask of the texts, and used that as a structure for the source critiques. They still don’t quite have a formula that gels in my head, but it feels a lot less scattered now.

Other than that, I’m just looking forward to hopefully having my flat back after Friday. It has been, more than a little stressful ceding huge chunks of my privacy…
