Miles – I think it’s from one of my great grandparents but I’m ashamed to say I don’t actually know, I need to check that.
I’m giving really short answers to a lot of these prompts. I guess that’s to be expected for some of them – especially the ones I don’t want to answer – but all the same it’s a shame that the idea seems to be falling flat after such strong beginnings. I won’t axe it, but I might need to rethink it a little. Speaking of rethinks, I have my assignments for next week in a functional first draft state, ish. I dunno I don’t feel so great about the non-essay ones because I like to have a formula to riff on. Mind you these sort of assignments do have a formula, it’s just not one I know all that well. Source critiques and secondary source reviews are not my strong suits yet.
Also notable today, I managed to rest, like, actual rest. That might not sound like much but it’s been so direly needed and for so long too. I have been dodging a big crash for a long time now, and I’m starting to feel I might manage it, if I’m careful. My one hold up is I am still slipping into that ‘foot off the gas’ mentality on non-work days where I end up writing late, hence the 11pm post. One day I’ll figure out how better to avoid that. Late is fine, but routine disruption, that’s where it gets me.
