The TeenyPC is proving to be a little problematic on Google Docs. More specifically, when I can’t use mains power, Docs crashes and lags a heck of a lot more, which makes sense. It’s almost as if the Pi isn’t supposed to run off of a USB connection. But I’ve found now that as much as I like using my DasKeyboard4 in the office and my Azio Retro at home, I just cannot get enough of the Vortex. It’s just too smooth and relaxing to use, as well as the serious improvement in texture with those PBT keycaps is to die for. Yes I know I keep going on about this darn thing but I have seen the light. OK no I still love my blue switches too but still.

Pre-5pm target, so yay. Also another 2K day so, yay? Well that one is a lot more controversial than it might seem. Yes writing more is good from a having more written perspective, and also that spree of editing on TUS saw me cut almost 600 words before adding a thousand, so it’s a great overhaul of old prose outside of the pressure of regular 1K. But, this is the kind of thing that can, and in the past has, burned me out. I have to be careful or I will end up burning through all my spoons doing that, and then not have enough left to do 1K of main story. But I think there’s a more important insight buried in there: I find writing a lot easier when I am jazzed to write that project. I wondered if that was wishful thinking, but these two 2K days appear to back it up.

If Project4 succeeds – no I still can’t tell you what it is – but if it does, then I need to work in more fun projects. Project4 itself will count for target – OK if that doesn’t give it away then I don’t know what will – but also I just want to write silly little side stories, maybe even just more for my eyes only. There is an intense catharsis to that even atop the usual one for 1K itself. I need to be kind to myself, and have more fun with this, and life in general. This year has been far, far too serious.
