Target done and midnight is a long, long way away. I am actually going to get some sleep tonight! Maybe. It does seem to be sods law of late that I write on time on a Monday only to end up awake late anyway and burned out by Tuesday. I am going to try not to let that happen, but it is one of those things that sits outside of my control.

I’ve been having a lot of fun on the side doing little tweaks on the TeenyPC. It’s become my fidgit toy for work and I gotta say, I’ve seen my productivity tick up a fair amount from it. It’s also nice to play a few classic LucasArts games on my break too, which I admittedly haven’t managed to do much today as I managed to actually write during it this time. Still, options are nice.

I also think I’ve figured out why I find editing so hard at the moment, and it’s convinced me that I am going to make ‘Story Writing’ my focus after I finish TEL, not so called ‘Main Story Writing’, where I focus on one novel at a time. A few different projects will let me chop and change, and if they’re all standalone so much the better. Overall books will take longer, but my general output should be the same. ‘All the right novels but not neccessarily in thew right order’ to paraphrase Eric Morcambe.

I’m Sam, and I live to write. I spent most of the first 8 years of my adulthood trying to balance writing with a large amount of crap in my personal life, until towards the end of 2018 I threw everything out and started afresh with just my writing. I built the new me around one goal: I have to write at least 1,000 words a day. I called this goal 1K, and it changed my life. So long as I write a thousand words a day, the day is a success, and atop that I've managed over time to build the life I wanted all those years. My greatest flaws as a writer is I still use too many adjectives, adverbs, connectives as openers, accidental passive voice and I don't force my work down people's throats enough on pain of extreme and unusual torture. My greatest strength is I know my greatest flaws and I'm working on them.
