I have a lovely laptop. Mum gave me her old one, and I am going to treasure this. In addition, I’m hoping to have my netbook running a light OS as a backup machine, and my sister’s old laptop as another backup. See this is why I don’t toss out old technology. But this one, the one I’m typing on now, is gorgeous. It’s sleek, clean, and from this point forwards, it’s my bed laptop. When I need to write on weekends, or days off, I will write from here. It worked before, and this time I am going to make sure it’s kept in a much safer place. I still feel bad for what happened to the old one, but mum said she was glad this one would get some use now. I will treasure it.
HOF is now 80,000 words. It’s close to being finished, and that is a good feeling, but I have to be honest, it’s good because I want to be shot of it for a good while. I’m not sure if I’ll have a better time with New Horizon, but I hope so. I am pretty sure that writing the same project for this long – the trilogy is more or less one long novel with time-jumps – is one of the reasons my prose has started to faulter a bit. But now I’m doing more active editing on TUS, I’m finding it a lot easier to deal with.
