April 2nd, 2020 – 554 – Day seventeen

Today is one of my biggest gaps between target and blog I have ever had. That is because while I aim to blog in the evenings now, I hit target in the morning for once. I’m about to head to bed, so hoping I feel fresh enough to repeat the feat tomorrow, but guess we will see. I wrote another 1,000 words of TFS, and feel like I’m doing pretty well on that story so far. I’m starting to get to the point where my first draft comes put a teeny bit more polished, enough I could almost share it as is. Or not because that would be crazy.

Work is still in a bit of a mess but I am on top of what I can be. I hope next week I finish catching up with myself. Again, we’ll see, but at least the incoming emails seem to be slowing to only just a few more than I clear each day. I need to get my Trello out of retirement if I’m going to finish wrestling this back. But all that is for tomorrow and beyond. I’ve ordered Ikoria on MTGA, and tomorrow once I get to 5pm I will be free to enjoy Magic to my heart’s content. You gotta keep distracted in these crazy times.

I’m Sam, and I live to write. I spent most of the first 8 years of my adulthood trying to balance writing with a large amount of crap in my personal life, until towards the end of 2018 I threw everything out and started afresh with just my writing. So long as I write a thousand words a day, the day is a success, and atop that I've managed over time to build the life I wanted all those years. My greatest flaws as a writer is I still use too many adjectives, adverbs, connectives as openers, accidental passive voice and I don't force my work down people's throats enough on pain of extreme and unusual torture. My greatest strength is I know my greatest flaws and I'm working on them.
