Sorry about the short entry yesterday. I both can’t and do not want to go into the reasons why, but suffice to say it was a work thing and it’s not a big deal. All it means is I’m left feeling pretty awful. But that aside, I wrote a short time later, and after some editing for the first time in weeks, I uploaded a short story. It’s called “Five Memories” and you can find it in my Misc Short Stories book on WattPad.
Today I did something, unusual. I left my book bag at home. I never do this on purpose, and it’s rare for me to leave it behind by accident. It’s not unheard of, but I’m left with a sense of vulnerability without it. It also would mean on paper that I cannot use my break to write any story content, as I do not have the copy of VOL to work from. Right?
Not quite. You see, I live and breathe my stories, so while I don’t have those words, I remember near enough all the content. When I daydream, I play over the books of the story, so I know the plot inside out. All I’m doing when I write is choosing the cleanest words to convey and make you feel what the characters do. So, I can do it off the top of my head. I can then read the first draft again, and bring the two in line.
So, that’s what I’m going to try when I go on a short break at 1:30pm. Wish me luck.
Wouldn’t normally do this but:
- Didn’t write at 1:30pm
- No that’s a load of rubbish, I will write with the book in front of me. Blame tired me grasping for solutions to a non-problem, seeing as there was no time to write today anyway.
